In The Works: Scott is working on his first solo music project. The CD will feature ten original tunes and one cover. Guest artists include Andy Hall, Casey Driessen, Tyler Grant, Bryn Davies, Mike Compton, Luke Bulla, Junior Barber, Jesse Cobb, Dave Bevins, Billy Contreras, Beau Stapleton, Andy Greene, Mat Kane, Sten Isachsen and a few other surprises!
Bands: Scott currently plays with Beartracks, a popluar four-piece band featuring the brother-sister vocals of Tom Venne and Julie Hogan and the distict resophonic guitar playing of Junior Barber. He also plays with The Wheelbarrow Boys, a banjo-fiddle duet featuring Scott and fiddler, Mat Kane.
Life: Scott lives just outside of the Albany, NY area with his children Allison and Carter, and their cat Siggy. He works as a 4-12 grade public school band teacher and received music education degrees from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and the University of Connecticut. Scott started playing banjo at age 15. His dream of being a public school teacher and banjo performer would never intersect, so he decided to pursue each in parallel and went to college as a music education major with tuba as his primary instrument.
Gear: Scott currently plays two banjos-A Deering Golden Era that has that iconic pre-war Bluegrass banjo sound and a Nechville Phantom that has a radius fingerboard for easy playability and a mellower sound because of its wooden tone ring.
